It wasn’t easy, but Newcastle managed to move past Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup on Tuesday evening – thanks to a couple of late goals.
One of those goals was scored by divisive attacker Ayoze Perez. He’s had a mixed campaign, and he’s earned himself more than a few critics, but he’s earning a lot of praise for his display against Blackburn – and with good reason.
He had a well-taken goal, with a strong finish from the right-hand side, and his overall display was much-improved. Is he at his best? Certainly not, but he proved once again that he can be a viable and useful option for us going forward.
Following Perez’s goal and after the game, plenty of Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Perez, and it’s fair to say that he’s earning some much-needed praise.
