Star man’s agent set for talks with overseas outfit as Newcastle target ponders future – report

Juan Rodriquez, the agent to Salomon Rondon, is set for talks over his client’s future with Super Lig side Fenerbahce, according to Takvim.

The Turkish publication understand the Yellow Canaries have turned their attention to the West Bromwich Albion-owned forward, after AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko rejected the chance to move to Istanbul in favour of a potential switch to Inter Milan.

A new centre-forward is said to be of the utmost importance to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium natives, though, who will now hold discussions with Rodriquez, as it is suggested the Grupo JM10 Sport SL owner holds the cards to Rondon’s future.

Sporting Director Damien Comolli will be the one responsible presenting Fenerbahce’s offer, with the 46-year-old expected to fly to England in the coming days as Rondon has four to five serious proposals already on the table for his consideration.

It would be likely that three of those come in the shape of West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and us, as the Irons and Wolves have both been linked with the 29-year-old heavily since the Premier League season drew to a close.

Rafa Benitez’s intent to retain the 12 goal, seven assist in all competition centre-forward is also well documented, but our advances to trigger his £16.5million release clause are very much dependant on how the Spaniard’s contract discussions conclude.

Takvim do not suggest whether or not Fenerbahce would be willing to meet his release clause.
