Given one of the roots of this season’s evil has been the plundering of deadwood talent from La Liga and expecting Latins to adapt to the rough and tumble of the Premier League, it strikes me as alarming / confusing / totally f***ing idiotic (*delete as applicable) that our first possible signing as a Championship club could be, yes you guessed it, a Spanish winger.

Well done to Spain. They won the Euros in 2008. Therefore sign players associated with all things Spanish, be it the national side or La Liga, and we’ll do alright. You think?

Well done to Torres and Alonso at Liverpool and also Fabregas at Arsenal for adapting. However they are a very slim minority in amongst the likes of the Xisco’s, Coloccini’s, Gutierrez’s and Luque’s. Iberian players and NUFC mix like paper and water – it justs ends in a mess.

So a big applause to the Sunday Sun for that one. Are Vetere and Jiminez still sanctioning transfer because a Segunda Liga Xerez winger called Momo seems their handiwork.
