Plans have been approved for a memorial garden to be created in the heart of Newcastle in memory of the late great Sir Bobby Robson who died aged 76 after battling cancer for the fifth time.

Saturday 31st July marks the one year anniversary of Sir Bobby`s death and this is a fitting tribute to the man we all loved.

The garden will be created on Gallowgate by The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and the regeneration company NE1Ltd.

Bobby`s wife Lady Elsie is in full support of the idea and believes the time is now right for such a tribute.

Lady Elsie said “It will feature elements of Bob’s career from his early days down the mine right up to his work for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.”

I`m sure you will agree this is a fabulous idea and it will give all Newcastle United supporters the chance to have a place where they can remember Sir Bobby.
