Should Newcastle Walk Away From Deal If Club Don’t Drop £30m Demand For Brazilian?

|

Negotiations to sign Kenedy from Chelsea have been very complex, to say the least. The uncertainty over who the Blues’ next manager will be after Antonio Conte has delayed any decision on the Brazilian’s future.

However, the Northern Echo have revealed that talks over purchasing the player have run into further difficulties. We are believed to want to loan the player for an additional year, with a purchase option to sign the winger permanently next summer.

Chelsea would, however, demand £30m for an exclusivity agreement so that no other club could hijack the deal when the loan ends in 2019. This seems to be just one option on the table, with the alternative being the club offering £20m up front during this transfer window.

The Daily Telegraph reported yesterday that this was a possibility, but a major stumbling block could be the Blues demanding a buy-back option. Neither of these options seem particularly attractive at the moment for the club. So, I thought I’d set up a poll to ask whether we should keep up our interest in the winger.

Do you think we should continue our pursuit of Kenedy? Let me know in the poll below:
