It’s going to be an exciting summer at Newcastle. The Magpies haven’t exactly spent freely over the last few years, but with the arrival of Miguel Almiron in January, there have been signs that Mike Ashley is willing to dig into his pockets.
However, this week, all the news about the summer has been with regards to departures. with the Northern Echo reporting that West Ham are still keen on Jonjo Shelvey, who has lost his place at St. James’ Park this term. Significantly, though, that’s not the only significant information that the Northern Echo have provided.
No further information on the matter is provided, but this is still rather significant news.
Verdict
It’s hard to see Chelsea viewing Kenedy as a player with a future at Stamford Bridge, and so you’d think that this is a decision made by the Newcastle board. They clearly don’t view Kenedy as a player with a Newcastle future, and based on his form this season, that’s probably a good thing. The Brazilian hasn’t been at his best this term, and to sign him for what would likely be a big fee doesn’t make sense.
It’s a shame, as on his day he’s fantastic, but his day just hasn’t come often enough this season, and it would make far more sense to invest in other areas on the pitch.
