Whether some of us even believe that Mike Ashley is actively seeking to sell Newcastle or not, it’s becoming evermore clear that the sports shop owner needs to sell up if we’re ever going to progress.
With ultimate proof being served by Ashley in that a football club cant be run as a business if it wants success on the pitch due to the footballing side suffering, Newcastle’s yo-yo effect continues to pan out.
Alan Shearer said his bit again via a combination of social media and TV duties by wading in although there is still a thought that many of us could have sorted these issues years ago.

Shearer also spoke to CNN and aside from saying that buying Newcastle would be an excellent opportunity for an ambitious owner to do something special on Tyneside, he said this about Rafa Benitez not being allowed to fulfill his potential:
They have a world class manager in Rafa Benitez. I hope he`s given the tools to be able to show that.
I spoke to him before the season started and he was pretty frustrated in that he hadn`t been given what he thought he was going to get. They are where they are.
