It’s being reported this week that Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez will be focusing on a striker when it comes to January transfer window strengthening.
Not a great shock really given our struggles in front of goal so far in the Premier League campaign of 2018/19 but the Northern Echo have claimed recently that the Spaniard’s top target is Eintracht Frankfurt forward Sebastien Haller.
He’s a 6ft 3in Bundesliga forward and the 24-year-old is a former French Under 21 international. He moved to his current club in the summer of 2017, having had spells with Utrecht and Auxerre previously.
His time in Germany has seen him score 20 goals in 50 appearances and he has six in nine so far in 2018/19 apparently.
The outlet claim discussions have already been held between the manager and owner Mike Ashley over doing a deal but there is obviously a natural scepticism amongst the fanbase and plenty don’t see it coming off.
January 31st, 2019, #NUFC have failed in an attempt to loan Sebastien Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt…

Joselu has signed a new deal and Jonathan Walters has been signed on a pay as you play loan basis.
