Revealed: 69% Of Newcastle Fans Polled Want Belgian Ace Instead Of Rondon

|

Salomon Rondon looks to be the club’s chosen pick to be the new first choice striker, but reports surfaced this week that the club could also still be looking at possible alternatives.

Liverpool’s Divock Origi was considered last summer as a potential signing before the Belgian made a loan switch to Germany, but journalist Oliver Bond suggests that we remain keen on the 23-year-old.

Last campaign, the striker struggled as he scored just seven goals for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, and he could now be sold by the Reds. When I polled supporters about whether they would sign the former Lille forward over Rondon, the majority wanted the Belgian international:

It is a surprising result, to be honest with you. There’s no doubt that Origi has the pace and raw talent to excite fans at St James’ Park, but he is frustratingly inconsistent. In contrast, the West Brom striker is more experienced and reliable, although it must be said that both players are not prolific in front of goal.

What do you think? Should Rafa switch targets towards the Liverpool forward? Let me know in the comments.
