Newcastle are one of several Premier League teams interested in signing Manchester City defender Tosin Adarabioyo, a report from TeamTalk has claimed.

The Magpies have been linked with a number of central defender’s this summer as Steve Bruce looks to strengthen his back line in the transfer market, and it now seems as though a new possible option to fill that role has emerged.

According to the latest reports, Newcastle are interested in a move for Adarabioyo, who has spent the last two seasons out on loan in the Championship with West Brom and Blackburn respectively.

Along with Newcastle, Everton, Fulham, Leeds and West Ham have also been credited with an interest in Adarabioyo, and it seems the quintet have been handed an advantage in their attempts to sign the 22-year-old.

As things stand, Adarabioyo’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season, and it is thought that the centre back has turned down the offer of a new deal at The Etihad, despite City boss Pep Guardiola apparently being willing to give the defender the chance to compete for a first-team spot this season.

Consequentially, City are now reportedly set to sell reluctantly sell Adarabioyo this summer, and it has recently been claimed that the defender could be available for around £8million.

This therefore, feels like it is a deal well worth Newcastle trying to get done this summer.

The Magpies do still seem to be looking for a centre back in the current market, and Adarabioyo looks to be one who is both reliable and affordable, judging by his past performances and these recent updates.

Winning the battle for his signature would also prevent a number of Newcastle’s rivals from strengthening their squad considering their interest in the centre back, meaning this would surely be a good deal all round for Bruce and co. to get done.
