Report: Concerning Newcastle news emerges as January problems continue

|

WIth inconsistent results on the field and further uncertainty off of it, the last thing that Newcastle need is more bad news. Unfortunately, though, that’s exactly what a recent article from the Telegraph has provided.

According to the Telegraph, Rafael Benitez will leave Newcastle at the end of the season if his January wishes aren’t met, with the Spaniard clearly running out of patience with the club brass. Specifically, he wants the club to bring in a couple of new faces.

Of course, his current contract does expire at the end of the season, but there’s always a chance that that could be extended. Yet, in this case, that’s currently looking unlikely.

Frankly, givenĀ our obvious needs, it’s ridiculous that it’s got to the final period in January without a major signing, but still, there’s no real sign of that changing.

Many of the players that are regularly playing for Newcastle wouldn’t get close t the teams of our rivals, and many of our core players remain from our time in the Championship. When you consider how much teams like Bournemouth have spent to remain in the top flight, the fact that we’ve spent pennies in comparison is embarrassing.

Obviously, there’s still time for Mike Ashley to sort this situation out and get Benitez what he needs, but if he doesn’t, it’s us – the Newcastle fans – that will continue to be left frustrated.
