Reliable Journalist Rules Out Summer Exit For Omitted Newcastle Pair

|

Chronicle reporter Chris Waugh believes that neither Isaac Hayden nor Jacob Murphy will be allowed to leave before the end of the month.

Championship clubs can still sign players on loan until August 31st, but it seems neither player will be departing Tyneside this summer:

In Hayden’s case, the 23-year-old has asked to leave to be closer to his family, but Rafa Benitez is reluctant to let him leave as he is still an important member of the first-team squad.

Mo Diame and Jonjo Shelvey are the first choice central midfield pairing but the ex-Arsenal midfielder is one of the few in the squad who can replace the duo, along with new signing Ki Sung-Yueng.

In regards to Murphy, the £10m signing from Norwich last summer hasn’t been able to establish himself ahead of the likes of Matt Ritchie, Kenedy and Christian Atsu, but it looks as though Rafa is still counting on him.

Should either player be allowed to leave? Let me know in the poll:
