He lasted 45 minutes, but it was 45 minutes too much, as again he failed to inspire any faith in the Newcastle crowd as he failed to do the simple things right … never mind look like an accomplished defender.

For too long we have heard the excuses, and had too many managers hoping to have him as the king-pin in the back-line. When the fans know only too well he will never be a Tony Adams or a John Terry.

But I had to laugh when when of the pundits described the player:
