The Sun are tipping relegation strugglers West Ham to make a £15million bid for Jamaal Lascelles.
The club captain has been in excellent form for us this season, and justifiably fans are a little perplexed as to why he would swap Tyneside for a move to a crisis-ridden club like the Hammers.
Fans on Twitter were dismissive of the story; especially because of the derisory price tag that the newspaper have placed on our no.6:
Nufc massive club staying up – West Ham small London club going down … why would you move ?!

Young English centre half with outstanding leadership skills. Can see him breaking the van Dijk fee in a couple of years if he continues to progress.

Verdict
The Sun are well connected with sources inside West Ham so the London club`s interest may be genuine. However, there is no way Jamaal would want to swap St James` Park for the London stadium currently.
He is playing under a manager who he trusts, and who gave him the captain`s armband. He is also playing for supporters that back him and would like him to stay. Finally, he is performing well for a team who sit two points ahead of the Hammers in the table, and are on the up. There is no reason he would want to leave at the moment.
