With serious points up for grabs against a relegation rival, Joe Kinnear has sounded the rallying call to attempt to bolster our hopes of snagging a foothold in the top half of the table. Calling for a siege mentality but still playing the injuries card he said, for the millionth time:

“We need the fans more than ever on Saturday. They were fantastic again at Hull. Once they get behind the team it urges us on. It`s the 12th man and they have been fantastic since I arrived.

I`m disappointed for them after the recent league results because I know the buck stops with me. I`m doing the best I possibly can this end but they make a massive difference to us all. I`m pleased to say for them that I think I`m getting the best out of the players available but it`s unfortunate that we`re riddled with injuries to key players. There`s nothing I would love more than to bring success for them because I think they deserve it.”
