With the chants again ringing out after Peter Lovenkrands smashed home the third against Boro, the Dane has again spoken out about the great time he`s having on Tyneside. The striker has again stated his desire to make his move to Newcastle a longer term one, saying:

“They were singing the song again after the goal – I`m very pleased that they`re still singing it. They haven`t forgotten about me – yet! The atmosphere was unbelievable – outstanding. I thought the fans were tremendous after we went 1-0 down.

You were expecting people to be a wee bit nervy, and the fans to maybe turn a bit, but they were brilliant, even when we went behind. We got a goal back quickly, and that gave the fans a big boost. They were singing their hearts out after my goal as well. Hopefully, it`ll be the same on Saturday – we need them again.

I`m enjoying being here and, of course, I`m scoring goals again. But the bigger picture is the club, and keeping it in the Premiership. That`s the main objective – to help the club as much as I can, and then focus on my future afterwards.

We had to rely on everybody else around us before, but now it`s in our own hands. I wouldn`t say it`s easier, but it`s better. It`s down to us now. It`s nice to be out of the bottom three, but it`s still a very, very tight race, and we still need results. We need to keep focused, and not to get carried away. We`ll take confidence from the three points, but we`ll be focused again on Saturday.

It`s going to be another very, very tough game, but we`re looking forward to it. We know Middlesbrough was going to be tough, but we dealt with it. Hopefully, we can have the same kind of performance, and come away with another win.”
