Despite many of us being fans of the cheeky Hartepudlian and his panel of banter merchants, Jeff Stelling won`t be getting blockbusting viewing figures from the Harper household. Our current number one has outlined his hatred for having to wait about until later in the weekend, following our last three games falling on Sunday and Mondays, seeing the scores and the task ahead coming through. Harps said:

“Last Saturday I had to take the kids out. I watched 10 minutes of the scores coming through and I just had to leave the house. I took the kids to an adventure playground and got away from it all. It`s torture playing after everybody else. But it was great that the results went our way.

It`s back in our hands now and it`s time to look after ourselves. We`re still under massive pressure, but some of that pressure has been lifted. We`re out of the bottom three, though, so we have to make sure we follow up the result against Boro. We have to block out all of the other games tomorrow.

Fans keep asking me why we don`t play on Saturday at 3pm and we haven`t done it for a long time. We`ve been live on TV because everyone is interested in Newcastle United. So it will be good to play at 3pm and hopefully put three points on the board and put the pressure on everybody else.

Monday was a special night, and there have been a lot of people talking about how great the atmosphere was. That`s how people think it should be, but hopefully the fans can recreate that against Fulham. A similar result would also be great for us.

We started well and then conceded a freak goal. Tuncay got there first and the ball smashed off me, and I knew I`d saved it. I then looked up for the second save and wondered why everybody was looking at the goal. It was a freak goal, but if you`d offered me that result at the start, I`d have taken it. I`d have taken a 7-6 win never mind 3-1!

It`s a long time since we came back from behind so all credit to the lads for that. They showed character, but the fans play a part in that by sticking with us. Hopefully we can get another win tomorrow because that will be vital towards staying in this league.”
