News tonight that rumoured NUFC managerial target, Gus Poyet was sacked whilst sitting on the panel of the BBC coverage of the confederations cup.

Looking slightly bemused he spoke of how he found out the news.

‘I got an e-mail that I suppose is information at 9:03 and another one from my solicitors; they are now taking care of everything, so I still haven’t had a chance to read everything. I can’t go into details of the future. It’s just a matter of being calm and make sure you make the right decision.

As such, we haven’t got a vacancy for a manager’s position at Newcastle United but it can’t be ruled out that Alan Pardew will walk or be pushed from his role at St James’ Park, such has been the upheaval in this past week or so.

Plus, the fact that Mike Ashley works in very small circles and Poyet just happens to be a good friend of one of the most hated figures ever on Tyneside in Dennis Wise.

Maybe a non news story but then again, there may be something in it.
