Poll: Newcastle Hail Back To Mid-90s Glory For New Kit – But Do You Like It?

The club launched the new away kit this morning, and manufacturers Puma have gone back to the 95/96 season for their inspiration.

The maroon and blue horizontal stripes was famously worn by the likes of David Ginola and Les Ferdinand as we got so close to winning the title. Here’s the new design:

Personally, I think it is a great idea. To say we’ve had a mixed bag of away shirts in Puma’s eight years of making our kits would be an understatement, but harking back to an era where we had success will always go down well with the fanbase.

Of course, they are not to blame for what’s going on at the club currently, but the contrast in the type of ambition between then and now couldn’t be starker. Let me know your views on the new kit in the poll:
