Now that the dust has settled on our latest league game and the buzz worn off a bit, it feels like the right time to comment on it.

It was labelled as a six pointer and as much as I said it wasn’t due to there being plenty of games left in this marathon, the last breath of the game really described the whole meaning of the term.

With 94 minutes on the clock, Norwich were ready to have top spot cemented for a few days at the least with a seemingly healthy haul of 23 points.

We would be in the high mid table mix of tenth with 16 points.

Some one minute and 57 seconds later, the table read Norwich in 2nd place on 20 points with us just behind on 19. A miraculous change that had somehow occurred but did with two extremely late strikes.

When the game was heading into the dying embers with the board held up showing 6 minutes, the feeling for me was that Norwich were nothing special and that we should have won. In my head I was already going through the inquest of what went wrong and to not panic as there was plenty of time left to reach the play offs even.

Norwich did after all, come with a game plan to stifle, to try to cause the crowd to react and to take their time with it as well.

To be fair they weren’t overawed either but the added time at the end, proved to be their downfall no matter how miserable their manager made it sound.

We got the result we deserved in the end and there’s been a few times this season where we haven’t.

There’s still a long way to go in this season yet but one thing was settled for good last night and that should see the end of the fan that leaves early for whatever reason. To say I pity them would be the biggest lie of all time and you get what you deserve or deserve what you get.

Hopefully this result sees the same apply to Newcastle.
