There are a number of rumours circulating in the press that the upcoming match for the Sir Bobby Robson Trophy between the England and Germany sides of the famous Italia 90 semi-final could be subject to a seriously low turnout. Some reports were suggesting that as few as 1000 tickets had been sold for the game on on Sunday 26th July at 6.15pm.

Tickets for match at SJP are now on sale for £10 adults and £5 bairns (£15 & £7.50 for premium seating areas). These can be bought via Ticketmaster online (and from NUFC online & via 0844 372 1892).

All proceeds from this restaging of the 1990 World Cup semi-final between England and Germany (with various special guests) will benefit Sir Bobby’s cancer charity, which to date has raised almost £1.3m. This is a for a good cause and will be an enjoyable night for all that attend.

Quite frankly it will give us a chance to support the cause of a man who turned us from deadwood to challengers. Now, as we watch a rudderless ship sailing towards iceberg after iceberg, do we only start to appreciate the tremendous football played under SBR and the results we achieved.

I doubt we’ll ever see the frequency of wins seen against the so-called Grand Slam Four like we did under Sir Bob for a long time.
