Newcastle United target and best friend of Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Paqueta, has today landed in Newcastle sparking waves of excitement across NUFC-based social media.
Lucas Paqueta is very high on the Toon Army’s summer wishlist. Not only is he an extremely talented midfielder, he already has an almost telepathic relationship on the pitch with Bruno Guimaraes from their time together at Lyon.
It’s no secret that Bruno and Paqueta are close off the pitch too. Bruno has reportedly strongly encouraged Eddie Howe to bring in his fellow countryman during the upcoming transfer window.
Unfortunately, however, it seem this is merely a social visit as Paqueta and his wife are in town to celebrate the birthday of Bruno’s wife. Now, with that being said, I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt if Bruno was to maybe invite Eddie Howe to the celebrations and, oh, I don’t know, maybe they get to chatting about what’s so amazing about Newcastle and Paqueta rounds off his trip with a visit to St James Park. While there he will be shown many videos of the Wor Flags displays and regaled with tales of the fans’ ability to create electrifying atmospheres by current and past players.
Unlikely, but we can hope. Regardless of what happens during this visit, I think it’s safe to say that this won’t be the last time we get excited by Lucas Paqueta.
