‘Painful to go and watch’ – These Newcastle fans have their say on attendance vs Watford

|

Newcastle vs Watford was a game that delivered little in the way of excitement. A 1-1 draw saw the points shared, although one of the talking points from the game was the attendance, as just 44,157 fans were at St. James’ Park.

That figure comes from the BBC but has also been reported by numerous outlets, and some fans believe that the actual attendance was even lower, which is good news for those who are keen to protest against Mike Ashley’s ownership of the club by boycotting matches.

Whether or not this has an impact on Ashley is yet to be seen, but with fans starting to stay away it looks like this is only going to be the beginning of a testing time for Newcastle United football club.

You can read the Magpies’ thoughts on their attendance here:

The fans are obviously delighted to see that they’re staying away from St. James’ Park and will hope that it forces Mike Ashley’s hand sooner or later.
