Overseas Sporting Director makes direct contact with agent of £28.4m-rated Newcastle ace – report

Ayoze Perez’s recent form on Tyneside has made the Spaniard one of our most sought-after commodities, and it seems Inter Milan have been on the 25-year-old’s case for a while.

FC Inter News have reported that the San Siro outfit’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio had reached out to the agent of our attacking midfielder some two months ago, to find out how much he would set the Italian side back and whether or not his client would be open to a move.

Ausilio has not been the only Sporting Director showing a keen intrigue in Perez’s availability, either, as FC Inter News also allude to Sevilla chief Monchi holding the former Spain U21 international in high regard and his interest is well known by our star’s agent.

The former AS Roma Sporting Director is said to have chased Perez while he was still in control of the Stadio Olimpico natives, and has remained on his trail ever since. Monchi’s predecessor in Rome, Walter Sabatini, also made moves to sign our 12 goal, four assist star, but we offered the midfielder a more lucrative proposal to leave CD Tenerife.

Now, though, we may have a fight on our hands to keep Perez at St James’ Park, as FC Inter News understands Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli are all showing an interest. They also note that an offer between €30m and €33million (£25.8m and £28.4m) will be enough to tempt the Magpies into selling the star.

Perez is even said to feel like he is ready for the step up to a Champions League qualifying side, and to compete on the international stage, with Spain boss Luis Enrique intending to include him in his squad come June when they face the Faroe Islands and Sweden in their next Euro qualifiers.
