Opinion: Headache on the way for Rafa but, plot twist, it’s a nice one

|

Newcastle take on Watford tomorrow in the 4th round of the FA Cup and I’m genuinely excited to see if we can progress in the competition.

We could perhaps do without a cup run given the way the league is but on the other hand it’ll lift spirits and give the players that extra bit of motivation to compete and play.

And, that said, I expect the players that get the chance to feature to grasp it with both hands – including Freddie Woodman.

The young stopper played in the last round and certainly looks a bright young goalkeeper for us to try and keep hold of in the future.

I don’t actually think that he is that far away from playing regularly for us in the Premier League – it’s just Martin Dubravka is criminally underrated and actually very good too.

Woodman gets the chance to cause Rafa a headache, though, and I expect him to take it with both gloves.
