Opinion: FC Porto Winger Wants Away – Magpies Must Match £17m Valuation

|

FC Porto winger Yacine Brahimi has been on two Premier League clubs radar for over a year – Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton respectfully, however, the 28-year-old has doggedly refused to discuss speculation about his future and instead opted to remain in Portugal in an effort to keep his options open until a so-called big English club comes along and makes an offer.

Yacine Brahimi stats

Here in the UK, the name Brahimi is not exactly someone who would be associated in wanting to come to Newcastle, but, if the price were right, the Algerian international would be a fool to turn his back on applying his trade in the north-east. The only outstanding matter is for Rafa to recognise the lad’s talents and for Mike Ashley to dip into his pocket.

Described as a technically gifted player, his runs and dribbles down the wings are almost unprecedented, especially in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Rumour

Media reports suggesting Yacine, who wants to leave Porto with almost immediate effect have been circulating the news desks for a while, and with this Porto star unwilling to agree a new contract Brahimi will become a free agent in the summer.

Get him – NOW!

Valued at £17m Newcastle United fans could do with some good news and this January transfer window, in my opinion, can’t come quickly enough. I mean, a New Year signing would be the perfect shot in the arm for the Toon faithful. Don’t you?
