Plenty of Newcastle United were displeased with comments made by Sky Sports presenter Jim White after his most recent comments about the club’s ongoing takeover talks.

Speaking to talkSPORT last week, White confidently claimed that the Magpies’ £300m change of ownership would take place, following the news last month that a consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and backed by Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners and the Reuben brothers.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the end of Mike Ashley’s 13-year reign of terror, after making our lives a misery over the full course of that timeframe.

But he seemed to have a dramatic change of opinion, which NUFC 360 highlighted on Twitter. White stated that the Premier League has not begun conducting the owners’ and directors’ test into the takeover.

Will PIF takeover the club?

Because of this, supporters were not impressed with White’s backtracking and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he is “one of the worst presenters on the radio”, while another labelled him as a “Mike Ashley puppet”.
