Oh no, the end is nigh!

The football  season is now drawing to an end with the TOON’s final game away at Burnley on Sunday.

There is hope, if not expectation of another 3 points after the demolition of Arsenal and their European Champions League dreams on Monday night however; Burnley sitting at 18th and in the bottom 3 are fighting for their very Premier League existence and will not be an easy adversary.

With Newcastle, as always, selling out their full allocation of travelling tickets it is expected to be yet another loud, and well contested game between the two teams, and sets of supporters. If other results go Newcastle’s way, and they also win the match, they could end up with a top half finish in 9th place, something the fans could’ve only dreamt of at Christmas, Let’s hope Eddie Howe’s boys step up  to make that a reality!

Burnley are coming off the back of 2 defeats to Villa and Spurs however;  this will be a “do or die” event and Newcastle must be on their metal to guard against what will surely be a “spicy” game.

With both Leeds United and Everton still in danger of the drop on the final day there is everything for Burnley to play for.

Newcastle picked up a few injuries on Monday night with Fabian Schar being taken off shortly after being knocked out. Callum Wilson suffered an elbow to the face but is expected to be available for selection. Joe Willock is hampered by a knee tendon injury and is unlikely to be fit or available for the Burnley game.

Whichever side Eddie Howe selects,  they will need to be ready for a war against a Burnley squad who will no doubt be throwing everything at them  including the proverbial kitchen sink!
