It’s important we get a result today to keep us firmly in the mid table pack. A result which would see the pressure stay off a group of players not quite good enough.

We do so against a Watford side that have been struggling of late regardless of their win at home to West Ham last week with them going into that on a similar run to we’re on at present.

With no Christian Atsu or Jamaal Lascelles again, it’ll be interesting to see who goes on the left today and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rolando Aarons get a starting hour or so to try and mix things up.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if we see Henri Saivet start in the place of the suspended Isaac Hayden with Mikel Merino having to make do with the bench.

Another interesting decision is the continuation of two strikers, whether it’s a straight two up front or one behind. Results haven’t been there but I think it’s been working with more chances created.

Starting today, the conversion rate has to improve or we’re in trouble.

My predicted starting XI:

Elliot, Yedlin, Clark, Lejeune, Manquillo, Aarons, Shelvey, Saivet, Ritchie, Gayle, Joselu.

Wonder how many I get wrong out of that….
