With Man City on a record breaking winning run, you can be afforded the mind set that this game is a foregone conclusion or even a free hit.

Us on the potential of having the worst home run for decades and them playing like the football is magnetised towards the opposition goal.

We also know that Jimmy Greaves once called football a funny game and the facts are that it is, it can be and it can continually upset the odds.

Whether any of these permutations come to the fore tomorrow is another thing but one thing that is guaranteed is that our group of lads will at least give it a good go.

We do so on the back of our first win on two months and with more or less the same side that beat West Ham plus the addition of one or two more.

Jonjo Shelvey will return from another suspension and the chances are he’s back on the bench although it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Rafa Benitez throw him back in.

Also looking like returning after missing the last game are fellow midfielders, Isaac Hayden and Mikel Merino so it’s a toss up between five players for the two centre midfield places unless Rafa plays three in there with Mo Diame and Henri Saivet holding them positions for that West Ham win.

I also reckon that Paul Dummett will be involved at some point this week with another home game on Saturday against Brighton, so it could be a few days where almost two different sides take to the pitch.

One player definitely out is Aleksandar Mitrovic and there are serious doubts over whether we’ll see him in the black and white stripes again with the transfer window looming.
