With various news outlets reporting that Newcastle had tied up the loan move of Tammy Abraham earlier this week, it was obvious that there was going to be a twist.

As usual and with the angle of the British press, it’s forgotten that an outlet can report a ‘done’ deal before releasing a different story some time later as if to pretend the original soundings were not done by them.

Anyway, The Telegraph have a new twist on the loan of the Chelsea striker with them saying that he is now speaking to Brighton and will let interested clubs of his decision in the coming days.

There are reports that Abraham would prefer to stay down South as he is based down there plus the talk is that Chelsea think he can be developed better at Brighton with more opportunity to be their main man.

Whatever happens and whether there’s any more twists in this transfer saga will be found out in due course but yet more evidence of the way in which the media report on signings and for all we know, Rafa Benitez may have moved on to another target.

In the meantime though, Abraham is with the England U21’s preparing for their Summer stuff.
