Whilst we’re in the middle of a mix of made up stories, PR exercises and rejigged click bait, we’re also in the midst of an international break.

For those of us that have grown sick of overpaid players going through the motions of representing a country that has tried it’s best to discredit the words that many great people fought wars for, it’s no wonder we feel detached.

Elsewhere though and for countries that seem to have players trying their all for their shirt, we have some of our lot involved.

Matt Ritchie was called up for Scotland but had to pull out through injury and missed their last gasp win over Slovakia last night. A win in their last game against Slovenia will see The Scots get a play off place.

Christian Atsu is another that injury looks like spoiling his call up with him set to miss Ghana’s World Cup qualifier in Uganda.

Elsewhere, we see call ups for the recently absent Aleksandar Mitrovic who’s Serbian side go in a strong position to Austria tonight. A win will guarantee qualification but you can almost safely say they’ll be at the Russian World Cup next Summer. They finish with a home game to Georgia on Monday.

Deandre Yedlin is called up fro the USA who play Panama in Orlando tomorrow before heading to Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday in his World Cup games.

Chancel Mbemba makes the Congo squad for their game against Libya tomorrow and Irish pair, Ciaran Clark and Rob Elliot are in the Republic squad for games over Moldova tonight and their crucial home nation clash against Wales on Monday.
