Newcastle were drawn to play either Norwich or Chelsea in the FA Cup 4th round after the first game ended in a draw.
With Chelsea having home advantage, it was expected that we’d travel to London with BT Sport picking the tie in advance of the result being known.
As it happens, Chelsea did eventually progress in the cup thanks to the dreaded penalty shoot out that seems to prosper everyone else but us with yet another result going against us as a game at Norwich would have been more winnable than what we have now.
Chelsea took the lead in the second half and an uninspiring game looked like ending 1-0 as the game neared the end of the four minutes added on before Norwich got an equaliser.
Even Chelsea going down to nine men in extra time failed to give us an easier task in the fourth round as The Blues won 5-3 on pens.
With the game taking place next weekend, tickets for the game will be going on sale in the morning and there must be a big allocation expected.
The game to be played on Sunday 28th January is a 1.30pm kick off and is live on BT Sport.
