Personally speaking, i find it impressive that we have a certain ‘skill’ to sell to buy and I have no real problem with the self sufficient set up we seem to have now.

but….

it’s still the same proven liars (in a court of law) behind the scenes and it’s still the same bile coming from gobs.

It’s when we get the statements that ‘Mike’ has spent ** millions that will boil the urine.

If it was commented on by the staff as to how it actually is then a lot of people would maybe soften their stance instead of the usual hot air and propaganda that we’re some active mean machine in the transfer market.

After Daryl Janmaat and Emmanuel Riviere come in and Mathieu Debuchy clears off, that will have us in a similar position to last January albeit with a transfer profit.

We will have ‘lost’ Yohan Cabaye, Debuchy, Dan Gosling, Shola Ameobi, Loic Remy and Luuk de Jong from those that were regular players

and brought in : Jack Colback, Siem de Jong, Janmaat, Riviere and Remy Cabella.

Im not classing James Tavernier or Romain Amalfitano as outgoings because they never featured, the same as Ayoze Perez because he’s supposed to be one for the future.

That makes it 1 defender, 2 midfielders and 3 ‘supposed’ strikers (1 decent in Remy) that have gone with 3 midfielders, 1 defender and a striker in.

This isn’t including the likely departure of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa either, so in terms of a squad, we’re still gonna be light but with a slight improvement in quality.

We will still need a decent centre back and a decent striker plus a few fringe players.

We will still have around £5 million left from the calender year plus the unspent cash from previous windows and the extra TV cash of £30 million plus.

If I was asked what could be done to try to sway my thought train and if i wasn’t allowed to change the manager then id ask for a signing up front of the calibre of Remy. A quality centre back plus the best part of another £30 million or so on upcoming squad players. It wont happen though.

What will happen is we’ll be pretty much done this week with the option to look at a striker again in January unless we sell Mbiwa and/or Moussa Sissoko and then that may fund another 2 or 3.

Yes signings are great but there’s no blankets being pulled over anyone’s eyes.
