Keith Downie of Sky Sports News has put Newcastle fans in an even worse mood after reporting Claudio Ranieri or Giovanni Van Bronckhorst could be installed as the new manager at St James’ Park.

Magpies supporters are still angry with the club for allowing Rafa Benitez to leave but have now reacted negatively on Twitter to reports suggesting who could be set to come in as Rafa’s replacement.

The fans were furious enough at the decision to not sign Rafa up for longer, but their fury increased once they found out the club did not even inform the Spaniard before making it public.

Benitez spent three years as the manager and according to reports in The Sun, had a one-year extension offer from the club. However, the 59-year-old was unable to agree to the terms on offer and will leave the club once his current contract expires at the end of the month.

Ranieri was fired by Fulham in November but took over at Roma in March on a short-term deal but has since left the club. Van Bronckhorst is also currently out of work after leaving Dutch side Feyenoord this summer…
