Newcastle United fans are still angry with the club for allowing Rafa Benitez to leave but have now reacted negatively on Twitter to reports suggesting David Moyes or Laurent Blanc could be installed as the new manager at St James’ Park, according to a report in The Northern Echo.
The Magpies fans were furious enough at the decision to not sign Rafa up for longer, but their fury increased even more once they found out the club did not even inform the Spaniard before making it public.
Benitez spent three years as the manager and according to reports in The Sun, had a one-year extension offer from the club. However, the 59-year-old was unable to agree to the terms on offer and will leave the club once his current contract expires at the end of the month.
Now the attention turns to who the club will employ as Rafa’s replacement. One of the candidates suggested by The Northern Echo is Moyes. The Scot has been out of work since leaving West Ham last summer.
The other name mentioned is Blanc, who has not had a managerial role since losing his job at Paris St Germain three years ago. It is safe to say, the Newcastle fans are not happy with either of these options.
LAURENT BLANC and David Moyes are among the early candidates to have expressed an interest in taking over at Newcastle United – but Magpies officials insist the search for Rafael Benitez’s successor remains at an extremely formative stage. https://t.co/bMWidNzdft #nufc

One of the things Rafa believed was essential to change at Newcastle is acting more quickly. Guess fell on deaf ears other than when getting it totally wrong. #nufc

The offer will be 1 year with no transfer funds, no communication and constant hell from the fans, sounds like a good job #nufc
