News: Newcastle United star player furious with latest performance

|

Newcastle United’s Fabian Schar has called his team’s performance on Saturday against Brighton & Hove Albion “S***.”

Speaking to the Evening Chronicle after the game, the Swiss international did not hold back with his assessment of Newcastle’s performance.

The Toon had a pitiful 29% possession at home to the Seagulls and had Schar to thank for saving a point.

Aaron Connolly hooked the ball over Martin Dubravka, but there was Schar to acrobatically, and brilliantly, clear the ball off the line.

Schar believed that Newcastle were lucky to get a point and that they must improve on this performance.

This was truly pathetic by Newcastle who were dominated by Brighton and only gained some control of the game when Andy Carroll came off the bench.

The Toon were slow and sluggish on the ball and looked like they didn’t know what they were trying to achieve.

Many of the usual St James’ Park faithful stayed away, and those who turned up made their feelings known at full time.

Schar was certainly unhappy, and Newcastle will need to forget about this game quickly.
