News: Newcastle starlet up for award after stunning impact

|

Newcastle United’s Matty Longstaff has had his dream debut goal against Manchester United nominated for the Goal of the Month.

It was a stunning move put together by the Toon, and it shows what this side could do, but at the moment, it is not happening consistently.

The move started from a Manchester United corner, which Newcastle cleared towards Miguel Almiron.

The Paraguayan then picked out Allan Saint-Maximin with a superb pass that allowed the Frenchman to go on a mazy run – he then laid the ball off to Jetro Willems.

The Dutchman sold two Red Devils defenders with some skill and laid the ball off perfectly for Matty Longstaff to run onto and bury into the far corner of the net.

St James’ Park erupted, and his joyful teammates mobbed him.

It was a superb goal and a brilliant moment for the lifelong Toon fan who will never forget his Premier League debut.

Unfortunately, this one moment was the only thing to get excited about in October for Newcastle, and we head into November desperate for some wins and some goals – or just anything to get excited about.

Matty’s goal faces some stiff competition, but if the Toon army unites and vote in numbers, then he may just win the Premier League Goal of the Month.
