Newcastle United are supposedly in contract negotiations with the Longstaff brothers – as both continue to impress for the Toon.
Sean’s current deal expires in 2022, but with clubs such as Manchester United interested Newcastle want to seal the North Shields-born man’s future.
The Red Devils are probably even more keen to bring Sean to Old Trafford after he dominated the Manchester United midfield in Newcastle’s 1-0 win on Sunday.
His younger brother Matty was the hero in that game with the winning goal on his Premier League debut, and Newcastle want to seal Matty’s future as well.
The 19-year-old’s deal runs out at the end of the season, and Newcastle must act quickly to ensure they don’t lose this starlet for nothing in the summer.
Both of the Longstaff’s were a breath of fresh air for Newcastle on Sunday, and the Toon should make sealing their contracts a priority.
The sight of two Geordie brothers dominating a Manchester United midfield worth £52m was a joy to behold, and I hope Newcastle sort out two new deals for these lads quickly – as they clearly have a lot of potential that should be fulfilled on Tyneside and not anywhere else.
