News: Former Newcastle manager is correct with his view on Newcastle

|

Before Newcastle United had turned in an embarrassing performance to lose 5-0 to Leicester City the Toon’s former boss, Graeme Souness offered his thoughts on Newcastle United and claimed this was not what Newcastle United was about.

He was referring to the previous game with Brighton – in which the Toon had less than 30% possession at home to another team who have struggled this season.

Souness claimed that Steve Bruce was not helping himself with negative football against lesser teams.

Of course, Newcastle then folded like a pack of cards on a wet day in the Midlands and Newcastle are in serious trouble.

There is no plan with or without the ball, and it will not be long till a lot of Newcastle fans begin piling the pressure on Bruce.

Souness certainly believes that Newcastle need to be more aggressive both in possession and out of possession and though I usually don’t agree with anything he says I think this time he is right.

Newcastle have to be hard to beat.

Their defence is the best part of the team, but at the moment they look shambolic, and some serious work has to be done to reorgainise this defence.

Next up for Newcastle is Manchester United at home, and there has to be a reaction from Newcastle.
