News: Everton youngster may be tempted by return to Tyneside

|

Newcastle United are keen on bringing former prodigy Lewis Gibson back to Tyneside.

The Daily Mail claims that Newcastle want to bring the 19-year-old back after he has spent the past two years with Everton.

Gibson left Newcastle after he made a complaint about former head coach Peter Beardsley.

The club stood by Beardsley, but he has recently departed the club after he was found guilty of using racist language towards some of the Toon’s African players.

Newcastle picked up £6m for Gibson, but now he may return to the club to link up with the Longstaff’s – who he is good friends with.

Newcastle had high hopes for Gibson, and to get him back could be considered a coup.

Gibson has not featured in Everton’s first team yet, but at only 19, he still has plenty of time to make the breakthrough, and that could be back on Tyneside rather than Merseyside.
