The transfer window will shortly be back but if reports are to be believed,  Newcastle United will not play a big part and have a limited budget for the upcoming season.

In an article in the Daily Mail, it is said that the Toon’s transfer budget is a measly £12M.

Also in the piece, it goes on to say about how the Magpies are still pursuing an £8M bid for Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer, who is available at that price as a result of having just one year left on his contract in Glasgow.

Wigan Athletic forward Kyle Joseph is also name dropped in the article as somebody that Newcastle want to bring to the club this summer.

Other than a winning goal scored for Wigan against Sunderland in Sky Bet League One this season, United fans are unlikely to know a lot about the forward and it would be an underwhelming signing.

It also touches on the fact that Steve Bruce had wanted to bring Hamza Choudhury into St. James’ Park in January but fortunately an injury to Denis Praet meant the former England under 21 international was net let go by Brendan Rodgers.

Not only is Choudhury not popular on Tyneside as a result of a horror tackle he did on Matt Ritchie, but that deal falling through probably had a direct impact on the club managing to bring Joe Willock in and giving him enough game time for him to show his obvious qualities.

Speaking of Willock, the £12M budget would surely put an end to any hope Toon fans have of seeing Willock in a black and white shirt come August as that would not be enough to buy the 21-year old’s boots at the minute let alone himself.

In more transfer news, United have also been linked to United States international Cameron Carter-Vickers.
