Newcastle’s Pre-Season So Far

|

One thing that the new regime has put in place is a more robust link between the club and the fans. Constant streams of photos and videos have been released by the club on social media and the official site.

This is a far cry from the days of yore when we were lucky to catch a glimpse of our heroes outside of a match day or a post on their own personal Instagram.

This new policy has allowed us to get a fly-on-the-wall look at the day the players returned to training, behind the scenes at the Austrian camp, and Sven Botman’s first day at NUFC.

Something that has really stood out for me is seeing Bruno Guimaraes. The lad is literally always smiling and he takes the time to acknowledge every member of staff as he passes them. There’s a clip of the players reporting for training in Austria and while most players just got on with things and walked into the makeshift dressing room to get their boots on, Bruno seems to take a few extra seconds to talk to staff as he passes them. Similarly, Kieran Trippier has a similar approach. It’s just small things like that that really show their true class.

The mood in the camp seems really buoyant with everyone in good spirits. Last night we saw Ryan Fraser taking first place in their karting competition, taking to the first place podium (rock), flanked by Jamal Lewis (2nd) and Chris Wood (3rd), Fraser was still shorter than both despite standing on the tallest platform.

Think you know Newcastle United? Who is this former player?
