With Kick-off under an hour away, the teams are in for the New Year’s Eve clash between Newcastle United and Leeds United at St James’ Park.
Newcastle will look end 2022 in style with a big win, although however, it ends today, you can’t take anything away from what the lads have achieved this year under Eddie Howe.
As suspected, Eddie Howe has gone with the same team that hammered Leicester on Boxing Day, however, Callum Wilson is fit enough to make the bench this time.

Going with an “if it ain’t broke” approach has worked well for Howe this year, and Chris Wood put in an impressive shift against Leicester the other day, grabbing a goal from the penalty spot too. Also, with Arsenal coming up next it does make sense to keep Wilson out of harm’s way to make sure he is 100% for that game when he will likely be brought in ahead of Wood.
Wood, of course, is a former Leeds player and after scoring against another old club in Leicester, will be looking to repeat the feat today.
Leeds have former Newcastle target Jack Harrison in from the off today along with Rodrigo, who are probably their biggest threats.

Although, really, I still can’t see Leeds causing us too many problems at home today, so I’m sticking with my big win prediction.
