Tons of Newcastle United supporters have flocked to a fresh takeover update from the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope.
He claims that the deal is ‘edging closer to becoming a reality’ and that his sources suggest it could even be approved this sometime week.
The decision has been in the hands of the Premier League’s owners and directors test for 12 weeks, triple the length of time it was expected to take.
Issues of piracy in Saudi Arabia were thought to be the major stumbling block from any deal happening, and following the World Trade Organisation’s report, the Middle Eastern state has pledged to stamp down on such problems.
Saudi’s public investment fund, who are the main benefactors behind the £300m deal, weren’t even mentioned in the reveal, but their government doing all they can will certainly help matters.
Which is why everything appears to be culminating towards some sort of encouraging announcement in due course.
It’s led to many at St James’ Park going wild over the claims, believing it’s finally happening whilst others are preparing their cans for the news.

– Huge public statements of intent from Saudis regarding anti-piracy for the first time
– WTO report put to bed
– No other angles left to cover for PL
– Nowhere left to turn for Qatar/BeInWow. It’s never been better positioned.
