Avid Newcastle United fan and popular northeast actor Steve Wraith has delivered a fresh update into the ongoing takeover saga to fans on Twitter today.
He was asked by one supporter if he believed claims from Danny Mills that the Saudi Arabian consortium could pull the plug amid increasing interest in potential buyer Henry Mauriss.
Speaking to Football Insider, the former England right-back said “The moment you go and talk to another party, I expect they would pull the plug on it. That would be my only concern. Therefore, If your American deal isn’t a concrete one, you’d be left with nothing.”
What should be top priority for the Saudis' at Toon?
New manager
Squad overhaul
Training ground uplift
Stadium expansion
However, Wraith has refuted this, claiming that the prospective owners will not walk away despite such reports, he said:
They won’t walk away. Mills knows nothing.

The Premier League hold all the keys, anyway. It’s their call on whether the Saudi’s take control of the Magpies, meaning interest from any other party is irrelevant until – and if – they reject the bid.
A consortium fronted by Amanda Staveley has agreed to purchase the northeast giants from Mike Ashley for a fee in the region of £300m and the final decision has been sat on the table of the top-flight for over four months.
Until such news comes, reports hinting that there’s another buyer in the wings should be ignored.
