Newcastle United ran riot this evening and arguably put in the best performance of the season.

Steve Bruce’s side ran away with a 4-1 victory over relegation-threatened AFC Bournemouth on the south coast, meaning they remain unbeaten since the return to Premier League action post-lockdown.

Enigmatic winger Allan Saint-Maximin was in a rather giving mood as if Christmas had come early, providing three assists at the Vitality Stadium.

He first fed Dwight Gayle inside the area and the striker made no mistake to put the Magpies one-up before the Frenchman pulled the ball back for Sean Longstaff to fire in from the edge of the box shortly later.

The third goal came in the second half and it is one that has left the United faithful drooling as Miguel Almiron fired home his third goal of the season.

He was once again handed the ball on a plate by Saint-Maximin before firing a sublime strike into the top corner. Substitute Valentino Lazaro made it four 15 minutes before full-time.

Almiron’s strike left many back at home in the northeast stunned – it even drew plaudits to Michael Owen whilst words like “special” and “incredible” summed things up nicely.

Here’s what was said about the £14.4m-rated attacking midfielder…
