We will be keeping an eye on Sky Sports News and Twitter today as Newcastle look to make their final moves in the transfer market before the window closes tonight at 11pm.
12:30 – Sky Sports News announce that Newcastle are in talks with West Ham over a move for Harrison Ashby. The young right-back is a huge prospect and, Hammers boss, David Moyes is a huge fan of the player, but he only has one year left on his contract. Newcastle are looking for cover at right-back with Emil Krafth likely to be out for most of, if not all of the season with an ACL injury.
13:15 – Sky Sports’ Keith Downie has featured on The Magpie Channel TV on YouTube to discuss possible movement and has identified several possible incomings and outgoings, although they’re purely speculation at the moment. Downie expects that if any team is likely to move for Leicester’s Youri Tielemans it will be Newcastle, but wages could be an issue. He also has a feeling there could be a loan move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher with Chelsea bringing in another midfielder today. There could also be possible outgoings in the form of loan deals for Matty Longstaff and Fede Fernandez.
13:45 – Sky Sports News: Keith Downie was live on SSN to reiterate what he’d already said about Tielemans on The Magpie Channel TV as well as confirming their interest in Scotland Under-21 International, Harrison Ashby.
14:16 – Craig Hope has reported that Newcastle have turned down several approaches for Chris Wood with Watford amongst the clubs interested. Not sure why we didn’t just offer a straight swap for Joao Pedro.
Newcastle have rejected several enquiries for striker Chris Wood. Watford among them, but also number of PL clubs. Newcastle do not want to lose any attacking personnel this window #nufc
