Newcastle To Be Offered Goal Machine For £17m

|

The hunt for firepower continues with Newcastle now set to be offered the chance to sign Gabriel Barbosa from Flamengo.

As reported by Dean Jones of Give Me Sport, Newcastle are one of several clubs likely to be offered the Brazilian dubbed, Gabigoal. West Ham and Wolves are also in the frame to capture the striker who has scored 101 goals in 156 games for Flamengo.

This isn’t the first time Newcastle have been linked with Barbosa with The Chronicle running a story back in January which claimed that Barbosa would be open to a move to Tyneside and liked the idea of linking up with Joelinton. For one reason or another, a move didn’t materialise and Howe ended up signing Chris Wood from Burnley.

Would You Like To See A Move For Gabigoal?

Yes

No

Barbosa would love another crack at European football after struggling to find his feet during a spell at Inter Milan. He was loaned to Flamengo where the goals started flowing, making the move permanent. Now it sounds like Barbosa feels the time is right to prove himself again.

At 25 years old, Barbosa is hitting the peak of his career and now would be the perfect time to bring him into the fold. His goalscoring record speaks for itself, and at just £17m it’s barely even a risk, especially now we have that Brazilian connection with Bruno and Joelinton to supply him with assists.
