Newcastle Should Sell £15m Winger If It Paves The Way For Chelsea Ace – Agree?

|

We will only sell Matt Ritchie if we are able to line up a replacement for the winger, according to the Chronicle.

Chief Sports Reporter Lee Ryder believes one of the main reasons why the club rejected a £15m bid for our no.11 is because Rafa Benitez hasn’t been able to agree a deal for a player to fill his position.

Deals for both Kenedy and Andros Townsend are proving prohibitive, with Chelsea demanding a £30m purchase option in any loan deal for the Brazilian, while Crystal Palace are looking for north of £20m for their winger.

It is believed that Rafa would sell Ritchie if we could agree a deal to sign Andros for £18m, but despite informal negotiations reportedly still taking place between us and the Eagles, no breakthrough has occurred.

Personally, I would like to see us bring in Kenedy if we can. A season-long loan could be a good move if we can reduce Chelsea’s demands for signing him permanently.

How about you? Would you like to see Matt stay, or would you prefer to sign one of Rafa’s preferred targets? Let me know in the poll below:
